Audition Help- Into the Woods

Let's see...trying to make this short.

Going for Rapunzel or Stepsister.
Too tall for little Red and most likely Cinderella is precast.

No clue on what to sing.

Thank you.

Okay... I'm sorry. It makes me terribly sad that there are two "Into the Woods audition help" threads right next to eachother. If you are going for Rapunzel, sing something high. I suggest "Green Finch and Linnet Bird" from Sweeney Todd, but any soprano song will work. Perhaps "My White Knight" or "I've Never Been In Love Before".

true...but other thread already has a song picked out....unlike....

ah. into the woods is a fantastic show.

i'm assuming you're too old for the parts of the baker's wife and jack's mother, which are both wonderful parts.

anyways, rapunzel may not sing a ton, but she needs a strong voice.

when i was in the show, our rapunzel was REALLY loud, and she could really reach the back of the audience with her 'ah-ing'.

so, whatever you sing (and i think the above suggestions are good ones), make sure you're loud, and that your voice really carries through the theatre, because rapunzels 'ah-ing's' are crap if they're not heard.

I sang "My New Philosophy" from YAGMCB and I got Lucinda. I was hoping for Little Red though. Oh well. The girl who got Florinda sang "Popular" from Wicked. The girl who got Rapunzel sang "On the Steps of the Palace."
Hope that helps
