Audition for Belle

Ok, so I'm auditioning with my theater group for Beauty and the Beast which is coming up in about 3 weeks. I have some songs in mind, but I really want to find a perfect song for this audition. The hard thing is that our audition can only be 60 seconds long. I've gotten a few suggestions for songs being Far from the home I love and Someone to watch over me, but I felt like those were both too sad sounding. I also got a suggestion to sing A whole new world, but I thought that vocal range might almost be too high for auditioning for Belle.
I can sing really high notes, so that really isnt a problem for me.
I really think I have a good chance at this audition, the directors know that I can act really well, but they havn't heard me sing all that much, so I really want something that shows that I can sing like Belle, although I didn't want to sing anything from the musical, because I thought that would be way too obvious and desperate sounding. I hope you guys can give me some ideas!
Thanks! Mr. Green

I have always said I thought Far From the Home I Love is pretty perfect for Belle because it's almost a mix between Home and A Change in Me.

By the sounds of it, you should look for something that really shows off your vocal range, high notes and lower ones.
Brigantine

After thinking about it for months, I decided to audition for BATB/ Belle with the end of "Just Around the Riverbend" from Pocahontas.
Starting at the 2nd chorus, going to the end: "I look once more, Just Around the Riverbend, beyond the shore, somewhere past the sea, don't know what for. why do all my dreams extend just around the riverbend? Just around the river bend- Should I choose the smoothest course? Steady as a beating drum... should I marry Kokoum? is all my dreaming at an end? Or do you still wait for me, Dream Giver, just around the river bend?"
It is about a minute long (depending on how slow you take the last bit) and has basically the same range as Belle (lowest note here is G, highest is an E I think). I liked the same feeling of anticipation, of longing, of confusion.
I was not cast as Belle in the production, but heard later that I was 'runner up'. There's my two cents, hope that helps.
