Don't use the accent for the audition, but practice it in case the casting directors ask to hear it.
As for how strong it is, I can't really tell you since I'm American. So it just sounds normal to me.
If you get cast as Hope, you'll probably have to use at least a slight accent. The Evelyn in my production uses a British accent, though it's absolutely terrible and he tries to talk in a voice lower than his actually is. But that just makes his character that much more comedic.
