Hello, I'm new here and I was hoping for some advice on an audition that's coming up.

The university I'm attending is putting on Into the Woods next quarter. The company that is putting on the show is entirely student-run.

My dilemma is that this will be my first audition outside of high school theater, so the audition process will probably be very different.

I don't know what part I should shoot for and what audition song I should choose, (considering I have never gone through this process before). I have done some research on the show, but I'm still feeling indecisive.

My last role (my senior year in high school) was Queen Aggravain in OUAM.

I'm eighteen years old and I'm a freshman. I'm 5'5" with an average build and I am Chinese (black hair, brown eyes). My voice range is a mezzo.

Anyway, one of my concerns with this character was whether or not she had any physical specifications. (ie: blonde or must be short, etc.)

Do you think that either "My New Philosophy" from Charlie Brown or "Notice Me, Horton" from Seussical would be a good song choice...? I also randomly have the sheet music for "Feelings" from the Apple Tree but I'm not that familiar with the song. >_<

She generally should be shorter than most of the cast, but nothing other than that.

Notice me Horton is a no-no for Red. Too pretty sounding. My New Philosophy is perfect!
