Are these two good monologues?I need to monologues, one classical and one contemporary for a summer theatre program. They didn't specify if they needed to be contrasting but I assumed it would be best if they were. However I don't know HOW contrasting these are.I picked my classical from Romeo and Juliet, well deciding. My two choices are at the end, where Romeo finds the apothecary and one where Romeo drinks the vial and kills himself. And the contemporary I picked from The Glass Menagerie, where Jim is speaking to Laura in scene seven. I'm not sure if those are contrasting enough, any opinions? |

Sorry to tell you, they might be a bit over done. Romeo and Juliet is basically the Shakespearean play that everybody knows, and the Glass Menagerie is pretty mainstream, too. Try looking for something a bit more unique. There are a pile of threads around here with monologue suggestions, so look around.

Sorry. Both of those are way overdone. You might get away with one if you pick something more obscure for the other.
