Okay okay so I'm in a bind:

Anything Goes is being put on by the outdoor theatre company and it will be running the same time as A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

I CAN'T DECIDE! This is really difficult. Plus, I have no idea what to sing. I'll get to that in a second. But if you all could help me decide which show, then what to sing, you'd all be my heroes!

Anything Goes
PROS-
* A month of performances
* Huge audiences
* A ton of my friends plan on doing this show
* I just love the show

CONS-
* Humid, icky weather and usually lots of rain
* The director is quite kooky and can never remember my name (I haven't done a show with this company before)
* I will most likely be cast as chorus

Forum
PROS-
* I love this show as well
* I love the directors
* I love the stage
* It's a possibility I have a chance at a better role in this than in Anything Goes.

CONS-
* Only one weekend of performances vs. a whole month!
* Only a couple of my close friends plan on doing this show (not that I don't love meeting people!)


NOW... whichever show you think I should do, could you give me ideas on a song choice? I'm a soprano with a range of F3-E6

I would go with Anything Goes. Sounds like you'd have a bit more fun. Even if you're just in the chorus, sounds like a blast!'

I personally love Forum and dislike Anything Goes, so I would choose Forum. I think you'd be a terrific Philia, and all the courtesans are fun to play too

As for audition pieces, I think anything upbeat/uptempo and sweet would work for either.

If you are going for Forum then I would look at some Sondheim character sop songs, do some listening and research and see what you can come up with that suits you. But definitely audition with another Sondheim piece.

Forum=A wonderful show.
I was Pseudolus 2 years back, and it was an incredible experience. You also sound like a potential Philia.
