anyone heard idina in The Wild Partyshes in it with Taye Diggs her gorgeous hubbie. It was the off_broadway version which i think is better then the brodway version if so i wouldlove to hear your comments

YES! It's one of my favourite shows. So much fun, but it also has substance. I also like it better than the Broadway version. It's kind of strange that they both came out around the same time. I wish I could have seen it in person!

there's an absolutely amazing version of the show on youtube.
I believe it's an amateur production, but it's just phenominal.
If you're going to do the show, I HIGHLY recommend looking this one up and watching it.

I love both Wild Party adaptations, but yes Idina is certainly fabulous, as always, on the Lippa soundtrack. 
tiffanyxx, since you're performing in the Wild Party, can I ask you what you think of Idina's portrayal of the character of Kate? I think there's definitely more to that character's past than we see firsthand. Let us know how your performance goes.

Okay, am getting irritated.
Why is it that in every Wicked forum I go to, all people want to do is gabble about Idina?
Idina, while a terrific actress, is merely the actress. The forum is to discuss Wicked - as in, the plot. You know, the plot that involves backstory and subplot, parallels to politics and society, differences and similarities between it and other "Oz" adaptations, fascinating characters...
But no, we discuss how we want to be Idina Menzel's shoeshiners.

Will then click on a differant thread. I think there was maybe four Idina specific threads in the 40 threads. I also thought this thread wa maybe misplaced a little but I wasnt going to rip on the people who like her. I am not saying I want to be her shoe shiner (that did make me chuckle) or anything but relax and let her fans talk about what they want to talk about. Its as simpe as dragging your past a thread that has Idina in the title. If your looking for a discussion about the actual details of the show start a thread or two. Not every wicked fan here wants to talk about that stuff.

Okay, I'm sorry, I shouldn't post when I've been sick all week, including today. You're right, that was... well, not going to use the word since I'm sure the mods wouldn't approve, but it wasn't nice, that's for darn sure.
But in fairness, you've got to admit, it's really hard when it feels like most Wicked fans want to talk mainly about Idina. I mean, yes, she's a great actress, and she seems like a wonderful human being. But I just... talk about her in the appropriate places, you know? I'd say an OT forum, which we have here.
And honestly... when I see a play or movie, or hear the soundtrack, I just don't associate the actors and the characters. It's not Idina to me, it's Elphaba or Maureen.
I'm sorry I was mean about it, I really am, but I just think there's got to be a balance between yes, admiring Idina and going Off Topic.

Maybe this does belong in off topic - but I'm sure you've seen the wicked/idina bashing out there and the insults people get if they mention Wicked or anything to do with it (including Idina)?
There's no Wild Party board at the moment, and if one comes people can go there. But for now I don't care if people talk about it here - if I had the bloomin' cd I'd be joining in!

To answer the question posed in the title of the thread, yes, I have heard Idina in Wild Party. I thought she sounded pretty amazing.
I really don't want to offend any Idina fans out there, but why is all the focus in Wild Party on her? I thought Julia Murney was more impressive in the CR of Wild Party than Idina. If you feel it's out of place to mention Julia Murney here when the title has "Idina" in it, well, I assumed this was a thread meant to be about Wild Party in general as well. Unless there's a thread already dedicated to Wild Party (Lippa's version).

There's a vid of Julia on Seths Chatterbox, I love it! I dont know Wild Party, nor have I heard any other music from it, but this vid just blew me away, Julia is quite incredible. Anyone interested, you can find the vid on juliamurneyonline.
