So, I never finished watching the old movie because it didn't seem to do the show justice.

Does anyone else think they should make a new movie with all the songs? Damn Yankees is one of my favorite shows, and I hate that they cut songs in the old movie.

Who would you cast in it?

Yeah, the old movie flat out sucks. Unfortunately the show doesn't have enough appeal to make big box office bucks so no one wants to spend time, money, and energy making it.

If i were to cast it, I would put Megan Mullally as Lola just cuz i think it'd be funny and because I love her, even tho she doesn't really look the part.
Whoever played Young Joe would have to be hot to attract the teenyboppers (spelling?), but i wouldn't put that above their ability to sing/act (unlike every casting director who put Hayden Christiansen (again, spelling?) in a movie)
Other than that I can't think of anything right now...I'll get back to you if i think of something good.

The movie did leave a lot to be desired, but I abolutely loved Gwen Verdon and Ray Walston's performances.

Honestly, I've never liked Gwen Verdon as Lola. Nor did I think she was particularly attractive.

Seriously, though...Damn Yankees had more of a high school audience turn out than any of our shows. I think it has great appeal. It's a musical about "America's favorite pasttime"
