Anyone else here hate Sarah Brightman??Uggh, SHE was the reason I was nervous to see the stage play! Luckily, the woman I saw was really really good.
But Sarah Brightman! she's shrieky and she sings like she's got a frog in her throat. Which I think comes from bad training, because it sounds like she's pushing her tongue back!! nasty, nasty, nasty.

Sarah Brightman/Chipmonk Face annoys me too, I really wish they'd re-record the show so i could have a non-movie version of the cast recording without her on it.

The Canadian cast recording is a non-movie recording without Sarah Brightman on and Rebecca Caine is a much better Christine than Emmy Rossum and Sarah Shiteman.

Colm Wilkinson also makes that cast amazing. His music of the night puts Crawford to shame.

What production did you see? And who was laying Christine at your performance?

Yeah, I don't really like Brightman either. There's just something about her...and she has a weird face, in my humble opinion.
I'll have to go dig out my playbills, because the girl I saw at the Kennedy Ctr as Christine last summer wasn't much better...

Jennifer Hope Wills! That was her name.
Omg and the phantom was Howard McGillin... SWOON! He was INCREDIBLE!

I saw Hope Wills as well, she definately had alot of talent and control. Probably one of the best Christine's. Very young too.

My main problem with her is that she doesn't enunciate properly. You can't understand her half of the time.
Michael Crawford isn't any better. His singing sounds so forced.

Ugh. I always have, always will hate her. Something about her mannerisms creeps me out, plus her voice bugs me to no end.
