any tips for a new production?

So the cast list for our production of Guys and Dolls was FINALLY revealed today (we had major amounts of auditions last week and our director went ahead and let us ferment over the three day weekend before telling us) and I was cast as Sarah Brown.

I'm really psyched expect I'm a little iffy with the characterization. I'm used to having older, more boisterous roles. One of my latest was Queen Agravain in Once Upon A Mattress...and that was one of my dream roles, if that lets you in on the type of actor I am.

I was just wondering if there were any tips on how I could...play it down while still being prudish. I'm having trouble being prim without acting 65, lol!

Hmm, I would just focus on the fact that you are good more in the sense that you follow what one should to be "good" rather than good in the sense that you force others to be good (even though you are a missionary)...which is more of the old lady sort of characterization. Quietly prudish.

Congratulations on the part, I'm sure you'll have a blast!

way to go on sarah.... I think the funnest part!!!

Can you look in your book and tell me what key or note her song I'LL KNOW starts with? I am working for her part in a couple of months and trying to practice in the correct key which no book out here seems to have the correct one!!! I would really appreciate it.
thanks!
