Any suggestions for Sandy the dog

Has anyone done the musical Annie without including an actual live dog? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Very Happy

A real dog - TRAINED, OF COURSE - is the best way to go. It does work to have someone dressed up as Sandy, but it looks retarted, if you ask me. Go with the real one. It adds.....something. You just get more of an effect if it's a real dog. Smile

I've done the show three times with five different dogs. Each dog added something to the show.
The time I played Annie we did it for an eight week run, and we had the same dog play it every time. It was so much fun doing the show with a real dog. I wouldn't do the show without one it just wouldn't be the same. Just make sure the dog has bonded with the girl that is playing Annie. In fact if she has a dog that would work for the role that would probably be the best considering the fact that the dog would be used to her voice.
