Any Other Tzeitels??

I'm Tzietel in F.O.T.R right now....Anybody else been Tzeitel?
musicalmousie

I am Tzeitel currently. I love playing her! Do you have any interesting Tzeitel stories to share? lol

i'm a tzeitel!! does everyone say your character name wrong? everyone in the play says "zeitel" and i rag on them all the time and say "there's a t there!! it's tsi-tel!! not zi-tel!"

do yall also think "miracle of miracles" is a slightly awkward scene? you have to act happy and excited and ecstatic with no words, and be emotional for motel while he dances around and sings. grrrr, not one of my favorite scenes!!

i'm so glad i have other tzeitels to talk to! Smile

That keeps happening to me! I don't point it out though, maybe I should, lol.

I KNOW! All we Tzeitels get to do is look pretty and grin and giggle. My cheeks really hurt after that scene- I always rub them after the song is over, and our directer is like "love hurts." Mr. Green It's kinda funny, but I wish that Tzeitel got to join in in the song- like Hodel does in Perchik's song. Mad lol

I played her a long time ago. Well, about 7 years ago. The director actually had me sing some of Miracle of Miracles. He felt bad about not being able to use my voice more, so he made it a duet. Which was nice of him.
But the worst part for me was standing frozen in that moment while Tevye is contemplating.. all that "on the other hand" stuff. OMG. My Motel was not one that anyone would want to look at for very long. Crying or Very sad
I decided to look at the wall behind his ear. Smile
There is one cross Tzeitel makes early in Act 2 and talks briefly to Yente- I stuffed myself with a blanket and was very pregnant for that scene, since the next one she's in, they have the baby. Smile

I loved wearing the wedding dress and the whole wedding celebration.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean! Call me crazy, but I think it might be typecasting that all the Motels aren't exactly Romeos! My Motel is okay, but *cough* not exactly Prince Charming, either!
I laughed so hard when I read the part about "looking at the wall behind his ear" because i do the same thing!!!!! I look at the wall above his nose, though because I'm like 3 inches taller than him! Embarassed

I was tzeitel last year...I really wasn't sure how I felt about playing the charcacter...but I ended up loving it.....my sisters were cute...and my tevye and golde were amazing (they were also my role models in real life...so it was pretty fun) I just really felt a connection with them..I'm sorry this probably sounds really clicé.....but it's a great role..and congratulations to everyone....

as far as the motel comments....I have a really cute cute story...."miracle of miracles" and the scenes leading up to it were actually one of my favorites....I felt like I could really work on my acting skill even without having tons of lines....and I actually had to look my motel in the eye..as specified by the director...it was scary actually...because I thought he was pretty attractive..and it was scary for me to be that close to a guy :0 eeep! anyway on closing we all played pranks on eachother...that worked within the show....and after "miracle of miracles" my motel kissed me Smile it was so..cute.so I guess I have a different connection to that..I enjoyed looking pretty..and acting like I was "in love" oh and I sang at the end too...just to add harmony : )definitely one of my favorite roles!

awwwwwwwww, I wish I would think it was "cute" if my motel kissed me! Embarassed

he's totally nice and sweet, he's just way short and not quite attractive. we definately get along and have more of a "brother-sister" relationship than a "guy-girl" relationship, in real life. on stage, though, we both put on our acting faces and act in love.

did you love the "sunrise sunset" and the whole wedding scene, audrey? i love it all except my dress, it's kinda icky.
audreydarling

I did....sorry about your motel.....actually it was weird...offstage me and the guy I plaed opposite didn't talk much...but acting is always fun..it's great that you can pull through that......but "sunrise sunset" and the wedding sequence is one of the best scenes....it's so moving..and fun..my wedding dress was pretty...but simple...have you been lifted in the chair yet?...that was fun..except they almost dropped the chair..it was scary!
brown_eyed_actress

They lift Motel in the chair, but all the girls make 2 circles and dance around me! Phew ... I was going to have to kill someone if they made me get on the chair! Shocked

Funny story ... the rabbi in our show is absolutely adorable, and pretty much the most talented guy in the world. he composes his own music, acts, sings, and is a cutie-extroardinare! thus, i've just decided that i'm gonna marry him someday! Cool So, I joke with my friends that the wedding scene is my fav, not because I'm getting married to Motel, but because I love looking into the rabbi's pretty bright blue eyes while he conducts the ceremony! Oh, I love the wedding scene! 'Cept I have to walk around Motel a lot, and our Rabbi has a tendancy to mutter "Are you done yet?". lol. Being lifted in a chair is the best- one of the most fun parts of the show! ^^ And right after the ceremony/during the points where everyone argues is really fun, because there's a bit of fun improving conversation.
We're in the midst of doing the show, and I haven't quite gotten the hang of...say, the dance...yet, but it's a cool scene. ^ ^
Radames's_Angel

Everyone pronounces my name wrong and it so bugs me! my teacher won't make anyone sing so I don't have to do Miracle of Miracles (the only song being sung in the show is Matchmaker, and our teacher won't even let us sing all of it Sad ) My Motel hates me and he will barely put his arm around me, much less kiss me! Has anyone ever noticed that it says that Motel and Tzeitel have been married *2* months, but suddenly a baby appears that takes *9* months, we may be the supporting parts, but we are not miracle workers! In our production we changed it to 2 years because it bugged our teacher/director.... today was our last rehearsal before the play, I'm SO nervous (our play has basically been a disaster, between not singing, Tevye not knowing his lines until yesterday, Hodel can only do one show so we got someone new to do it who still doesn't know her lines completely, it's pathetic...)

As for funny stories, Tevye keeps telling us we're adopted and calling us by numbers (daughter 1, daughter 2 ect.) and then we run to Golde and she kicks his butt, very amusing! Especially when he runs from her.... I feel really old because it's my last year here, and Tevye is my age, and I'm actually older than Golde, but we all pull it off...
