Any Ideas?

A local production of Oklahoma is being put on, and I really want to audition because one of my close friends in the theatre community is directing it.

I need to prepare two contrasting Broadway songs similar in style to this show.

Any suggestions? I would like to play Ado Annie!

It might be weird, but perhaps another R & H song from "Carousel" as Carrie. It might be a little weird, but they're alike in a lot of ways.

For Annie, other songs I can think of are things like "Adelaide's Lament".

My daughter played Ado Annie last year, she used Always True to You in My Fashion for her audition song. Similar range, similar attitude.

I agree. It's a good song and is very nice to hear after an audition of mainy overly used songs. fantastic peice.

I agree that both "Always True To You..." and "Adelaide's Lament" are great choices...another one (although it may be overdone) is Gimme Gimme from Millie...ummm think through some coquette-ish or "cute" characters from other shows and what their songs are if you really want Annie....there are a lot of those kinds of songs out there. Always True to You is a reallly good idea though I like that one.
