Any a you's done "Disney's Alice in Wonderland, kids?

We're doing it for our summer theatre camp and I always like to see what other groups did with certain parts of the plays - staging, costumes, makeup, etc. Not that I'm gonna steal anything...... Wink
But it helps generate ideas in my "team".
Thanks!
Luc

You mean Alice in Wonderland, Jr.
It's a really great show! I'm Tweedle-Dum and it's a blast. Everyone is having an awesome time. Do you have any specific questions?

Are you doing the Jr. or full version? I was a flower/bird in the caucus race when I was like ten in the full version. Ask me if you have questions.

We're doing the Jr. or "kids" version. I'm stumped on how to do the Cheshire Cat as 3 people. Can't wrap my brain around that one.
My twin sons are going to be the Tweedles, lol. They're perfect (although fraternal), but they've been doing comedy routines in our school's talent shows since they were in 2nd grade (they're in 6th now).
We started yesterday and it's going to be really cute. I'm still missing "Seussical, Jr." from last year.....it'll be my all time favorite forever......but this'll be good too.

thanks for the posts!

Wow....3 cheshire cats may be weird, but I guess it could work. They have to be pretty similar to give some continuity. Unless the director wants it to seem like there's a difference. I guess it wouldn't be too difficult though if done well.

Michelle, out of curiosity, who did your sons play in Seussical?
Salome

uhm "Any of yous??"
Luc

Our Cheshires were all dressed the same... not very complicated...

They are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum - they argued over who would be Tweedle Dum, lol but finally the peacekeeper of the two said he would play T. Dum...
Daughter is one of the Cheshire Cats - she played the Cat in the Hat in Seussical last year - starting to think she's being type-cast.

That's what we're doing too, but the stage directions suggest one is the "head", another the "body" and the last be the "tail". But we kind of decided today that they're just gonna all look alike with kitty cat ears and matching shirts. So you're Tweedle Dum, huh? Sounds like you're having fun. When does your production go up?

uh....duh....yes I can read...just not the right words the first time, sorry. My kids were - daughter, Emily - Cat in the Hat; son, Brendan - Yertle, the Turtle and Vlad Vladicov (sp?); and other son, Colin - a Wickersham brother - head naughty monkey, lol - perfect role.
It was truly a wonderful production - our best ever. One of the sisters of several cast members saw a college production and thought ours was way better. She wasn't biased or anything.
Neither am I.....
Luc

It does suggest the head/body/tail, but it's just not necessary. It never refers to it in song or dialogue.

I'm kind of in between runs of the show... we finished our "regular" run, which was only 11 performances. We were held over, and we perform it again (in a theatre 3x the size of the 1st theatre) on Monday! It's such an awesome show... I will post YouTube videos soon!

Cool! Look forward to it. We only do one weekend, 3 shows for our camp. And then bring it back in the fall to do for the locals schools. Not sure if that'll happen this time around as I'm moving to Oregon in July....
