Well I hope the show is great and say hi to Anthony! |

He probably will. Has your school contacted his agent? He also came to the local high school production of Rent in my area, although on a pre-show basis, to talk to the cast.

I'm definatly going to tell my director to do that! Although, he'll be touring with Adam at that time, so it would be more difficult, but I'd die if he could come!! |

How much did you pay him to come? My director would like to know.

We are not paying him. We paid for his airfare, food and lodging. His visit will help to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. Anthony has done a few favors for our school over the years. I met him in New York soon after RENT opened. I told him our high school was starting one of the first Gay/Straight Alliance clubs in the country and he said he wanted to help promote what we were doing. He flew in for a day and did workshops and an evening Q&A to raise money for BC/EFA. His visit was profiled in a 1997 Dramatics magazine cover story. We have kept in touch over the years and he has been kind to my students whenever our paths have crossed. In September, I took our RENT cast to Pittsburgh to see Anthony's one man show "Without You". After the show, at dinner the cast asked him to come and watch them perform RENT. He later agreed and we made all the travel arrangements. |

Same deal for the high school in California that he spoke at. (Airfare, local transport, food and lodging only.)

Anthony Rapp is still coming, but he had to postpone from Thursday the 20th of November to Saturday the 22. He is currently filming in NYC and his shooting schedule has changed.

Ok. Thats good to know because our school gives us practially no money for our musicals, we raise money ourselves, and we wouldn't have been able to pay him. But I'm sure we could raise enough to pay for his airfare, etc. So, if we contacted his agent is there a good chance that he would be able to come to one of our practices to talk to the cast? (he will be touring with Adam during our performances in early March). |

Anthony Rapp came last weekend to our production of RENT in Cincinnati. He spent the afternoon with the cast and crew for an informal Q&A session.
He then spoke to the local "Cappies" who came to review the show. He went onstage during the encore and sang "Seasons of Love" with the cast. He addressed the audienc eto raise awareness for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. He then signed autographs for anyone who doanted to BC/EFA. He went to the cast party and stayed until 2:00 am where he was the DJ for the entire party from his own ipod.
