Another Belle audition thread...

So I have an audition for my school's production of Beauty and the Beast in January. I'm gearing my audition towards Belle, but I'd really be happy with any supporting role. The problem is, I quit my old voice teacher and haven't found a new one yet, so I'll have to learn my audition song by myself. Because of this, my song needs to be:

1. Easy enough for me to learn by myself
2. Fairly common but not incredibly overdone (I need to purchase sheet music and accompaniment to practice with pretty soon)

My fallback song is usually "Not for the Life of Me" from Thoroughly Modern Millie, but I just used it for our director when school started in September, and I want to find a song more suitable for this audition. I'm a mezzo with a strong belt I'd like to show off.

It's not terribly important for me to do something that isn't overdone, because every girl at our school just does songs from The Little Mermaid, Mulan, and Pocahontas, so as long as I steer clear of those I should be ok. Any song suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've always felt Far From the Home I Love(Fiddler on the Roof) would be a nice choice for Belle.

Thanks for the suggestion, however we just did Fiddler last year, so I'm not sure that would be wise. Thanks though!

I wouldn't choose a song that shows off your belt since Belle has a more legit sound. Choose a song like "It Might as Well be Spring" from STATE FAIR or "Many a New Day" from OKLAHOMA. They're much more appropriate for Belle.
