ANNIE WARBUCKSThe Somers Point (NJ -- About 20 min South of Atlantic City) Public School District is pleased to announce their 2006 annual school musical, Annie Warbucks, the sequel to the beloved Broadway musical, "Annie". Performances are March 29 – April 1. The show will run for four performances with evening performances starting at 7:30pm, in the Jordan Road School Cafetorium, 129 Jordan Road, Somers Point.
Annie Warbucks features a cast of young performers from grades 4 - 8 and picks up where the original musical ends, on Christmas morning, 1933. Daddy Warbucks has adopted Annie and all seems to have turned out well. But there are more troubles ahead: Annie will have to go back to the orphanage if Daddy Warbucks can't find a wife! Can there possibly be another happy ending to this story?
A lively, upbeat score and fast-paced story make this a fun show for the whole family. If you loved "Annie" you'll find yourself entranced anew by songs like "Annie Ain't Just Annie Anymore," "All Dolled Up," "Somebody's Got to do Something" and Annie's heartfelt "I Always Knew." Philip Pallitto directs a talented cast, with choreography by Elaine Chaffin, and musical direction by Debbie MacPherson. Annie Warbucks is produced through a grant from the Somers Point Foundation for Education.
Show times for Annie Warbucks are 7:30 PM for Wednesday, March 29th, Thursday, March 30th, Friday, March 31st and Saturday, April 1st. Tickets are available at the door, and are $5.00 general admission, and $2.00 for children 12 and under. For more information or to reserve tickets, call 609-927-2053 ext. 3031
