Annie Jr.?

A local community theater is doing Annie Jr. and I'm just wondering what's the difference between that and the regular musical? Do you think I would be interested in it or is it a show for little kids (I'm 16)?

The orphans are mainly kids, but you seem perfect for Lily St. Regis, Grace, or Miss Hannigan, or Star-To-Be.

Or you could be a Boylan sister.

go to "browse shows" on the left hnad side and scroll down until you see Annie Jr. It has all the info you will need.

Okay, thanks! I'll think about it.

The script doesn't call for the Boylan sisters. Bert Healy doesn't sing at all (I was him!) - it cuts straight from his radio show to the orphans singing "Never Fully Dressed...". So they may not have the Boylan sisters. Go for Miss Hannigan or Grace - they are the best parts in the Junior version.

It's pretty much a way shorter version of the original show, with lots of cutting and editing of lines, songs etc.

Really? Oh, I didn't know that.

if you watch the disney version of annie, it's basically the same as that

Go to the Broadway jr website (broadwayjr.com) and go to the audition section - it has selections from the script.

The show is cute and fluffy, and basically the same as the original but shorter. Sure there are songs cut out, but the original Annie is pretty fluffy too. It would be fun if you got a role. The chorus is not as much fun in the Jr production

Yeah, ensemble in Annie Jr is boring. No Hooverville scene!!
Laura

oh hooverville is like the only seen worth sitting through in the whole show

They cut it pretty bad (espcially little girls) i'm actually trying out for it too right now. But it's barely worth it. The only semi-decent part for an older girl is Hannigan.

Yeah, I did Annie 2 years ago and my little sister is doing Annie Jr. right now and they cut out a whole bunch of stuff. Very disappointed when I found out the Hooverville song was cut! Sad
