hi..I know this is really early but next summer a community thetare is doing Annie..now I sort of in between the ages of the parts..too old for an orphan yet too young for an adult role..I am 5'6" with a mature voice and I will be in my late teens..I'm thinking of going for a maid or "Star to Be" or amybe even Lily St.Regis..but I am probably too young though I would love that role..I've worked with the company before as well..any suggestions for roles for an in beetweener would be great!

How old is late teens? If you are about 16ish, you might be surprised as you might be able to play an orphan. If you are 19ish, you would definitely be a nice Star-to-Be.

At 5'6" you're probably too tall to play an oprhan anyways,regardless of age, especially in an adult production.

I'd say go for one of the servants or the star to be. Two of my friends played...Cecile and.....one of the other servants whose name slips me when they were 15 in an adult production of the show.

Annette..I think??..is the other servants name...thatnks that's good to know..I'm also thinking of the boylan sisters..who are on the radio w/bert healy. maybe they double as maids as well..I'm not even sure if I'll be able to do the show..I might be doing another camp/class.

I know in the productions that I did the maids doubled as boylan sisters. Lily can be played by some in their late teens. The second time I did the show the girl who played her was in her late teens I think that she was 19 but I don't remember. Star to Be is also a role that a "teenager" can play and also bums in Hooverville and other little fun roles. Break a leg if you decide to audition and I hope that this helps.

I just saw Annie at a professional company, and their "Star-to-be" doubled (tripled?) as a Boylan sister and a maid. Hey, don't count out Lily, either...if you look that old you might as well try for her, right?
