angels infohow big of a part is an angel? from reading what other people have already said, i've figured out that they sing and dance in a couple of numbers. but do they have any lines? and if so, about how many?

The Angels each have about 2-4 lines, plus lots of stagetime with Reno and the sailors. Beyond the four principals (Reno, Hope, Erma/Bonnie, & Mrs. Harcourt) they are probably the biggest female roles.

yea, like norayouadora (cute name, by the way!) said .... they are pretty prominent. they get a lot of stage time in their dance numbers and such. the angels in our production were also chorus members in several general passenger scenes, so they had TONS of stage time!

The angels were huge parts in our musical whether it was randomly being on stage flirting with passengers or heating up the stage backing up Reno. Everywhere you looked there was an angel having fun. O man now I wish I had gotten that part lol

In our production,, the Angels were used alot more than the script says. We used them a heck of a lot more in "Blow Gabriel Blow" and wow ours were great. They are really fun for this show.

Congratulations. The 4 angels in the show I was in, and I, bonded so much...we had ridiculous amounts of fun. Break-a-leg!

I was just cast as an angel! I was also told that we (angels) would be used more than the script calls for. I auditioned for Erma but I'm excited about being an angel .... sound like it will be LOTS of fun! I was also really hoping for a part that will allow me to dance a lot.

Just an update: We're well into rehearsals now and being an angel is so much fun! I'm glad I get a chance to show off my dancing (which is my strong skill), but still do more than JUST dancing. Definitely a GREAT role for me. Good job, casting director!

Lol, it's nice to hear someone complimenting the CD for once. Normally all we get on here is people complaining about the role they got.
I'm glad the show is going so well for you! When do you open?

We open the first weekend in May, so it's still a while away.

Ooh, cool, lots of rehearsal time to make it really good. That's what I hate about my school's musicals; we never get enough time to rehearse. It seems like we start rehearsal and perform the show a month later! Well okay, in reality it's more like 2 months-ish (for this show, we started rehearsals on 2/20 and it opens 4/27), but it always feels so rushed. Lol.

Yeah, I know how that is. My school musicals would start late March and open early May, so we really only had about a month and a half. It seemed like we'd work so hard and then it was over in one night. (We'd perform once in the morning for the rest of the school and then that evening for parents, etc.)

^Yeah! I hate that how you work so hard and it's all over in a couple days. My school only does the usual three performances--friday/saturday night and a sunday matinee--and it drives me nuts. I like it when a production does at least two weekends; it's rewarding to perform more times, not to mention more fun.
