Andrew Lloyd Webber has CancerHi
He has Prostrate Cancer and is undergoing treatment.
Hope he gets well.
His shows particually Cats have given me a great deal of pleasure, I met him once, while he was a bit gruff he did give up his autograph.

Well theese days cancer isnt the death sentence it used to be so we all hope for the best!  He must have the absolute world record in the number of unbroken runs in brodway and west end given that the only show that had beaten Cats in this field is another Webber show, Phantom. It would be fun to have seen what he should have said if some one would have told him that when Cats opened...

I'm sorry to hear this news.
But I do know he'll recover fully and get back to being passionate about musicals and theatre.
I know he's got his Phantom sequel to work with. However, there's one project I hope he could consider: Producing a complete official English recording of Cats with the best voices to sing the parts. I know this is a very tough act to follow considering the superb cast for the video, but the cuts in the video annoy me greatly. I know that CATS has undergone changes over the years, but I'm hoping that there can be one recording that puts the various versions of numbers in one place. This means it could include the two versions of M&R and the two versions of Growltiger. Maybe ALW could learn from Cameron Mackintosh's work on the complete Les Mis international album. (if ALW doesn't do it, someone else would do it after his death, such as what happened to the EMI recording of Show Boat with John McGlinn.)

If Ive ever had a dream project based on anything and could magically give it to ALW it would be either a prequell or follow on to Cats. More Cats to the world...
