an off dayI had a god awful terrible off day yesterday at practice. We are a week away from tech week...and I can't afford to have an off day. I know my stuff but for some reason yesterday I could barely sing shy and messed up on swamps of home. I beefed the choreography for Shy like no other and even missed my lift...yeah, it was bad. I even bashed my
shin on the wall when I fell back into the moat. It's all swollen and bruised. It was just a bad deal.
Today is publicity day and the news is coming...I hope today works out better.
Does anyone else ever have a terrible off day like this?

Oh yes. I didn't have as great as cast as I usually do for this show. Everyone was casted right, but the chorus....too many new, flaky stupid little children that failed to realize the amout of work and dedication a show needs. Call me idiotic, but I hope a lot of those girls don't come back.
And your lift could have been worse. Our Fred and Knights had trouble with it too. Quite a few times she was thrown over them and there was the one time when her foot flew out and kicked one of the guys where it would hurt. At the end of the dance, he fell to the floor in pain.

Oh yeah, I had some really off days. I'm not a trained singer, and I'm sure there were days when my director wanted to gauged her ears out because my voice wasn't behaving!

Awww. Off-days happen to everyone--especially right around crunch time when that fatigued haze begins to set in...
I recall one full-day rehearsal a few weeks before the show to which I unintelligently wore jeans that were rather overlong. I basically slipped and stumbled all over the place, eventually falling quite hard on my butt while sneaking down a dinky little staircase during 'Quiet.' :B
It can get frustrating--but just try to keep in mind that it's better to make mistakes now and not on a show night! : D
