American Bandstand

So every year my choir puts on a vocal workshop that culminates in a variety show. This year the theme is songs from Dick Clark's American Bandstand. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR AN AUDITION SONG (because everyone is automatically forced to participate), rather I am looking for help to choose a song for me to perform. Any ideas? I am a baritone with a range from a low E flat to a high F/G.

Um I think he is more looking into NON musical theatre songs, hence the theme of American Bandstand.

Do you have any particular year of music that would have been featured on bandstand that you prefer?

Yeah, NO musical theatre songs... sadly. We had a Broadway theme last year.

Anyways, we have the option to do songs from the 50's to 80's, but I think songs from the 50's and 60's would be the most prominent. I've honestly never seen the show (c'mon Im 17) so I have no idea what famous performers or acts were on the show.

If you rent the DVD of the TV show American Dreams, you can get an idea of Bandstand from the special features.

This should help:

Hopefully you can find some artists you know and like!
