all the good things

We are trying to decide on what show to do for our Spring Musical. The choices it has been narrowed down to are cinderella, little shop, possibly high school musical(if the middle school doesn't do it) or maybe and this is a very big maybe Hello Dolly.

Since our Fall musical was The Wizard of Oz, and Cinderella is also a childrens show I would love to do Little Shop.

My high school did it when i was in middle school, so we still have costumes, props, and the set is simple I believe. The plant we plan on renting and we found a nice one for cheap from a theater a few of us have done shows at.

I really need to know all the good things about this show so I can give the director a list.

Any small thing is a good even...
Vice

- The cast is small.
- Alan Menken and Howard Ashman also did the music for several Disney movies.
- The set, minus Audrey II, is fairly simple.
Bookworm

- People really LOVE it. Honestly, if you can advertise with Audrey II as the picture, and mention something about a maneating plant, trust me. Everyone will come.

yea, i don't know anyone who doesn't like little shop. But i know tons of people who hate hello dolly, cinderella, and high school musical. I'd say that's reason enough to do it. My friends high school did it, and it was so incredible that the show got written up in the city's paper.

Well the biggest difference I see between Little Shop and the other shows you mentioned is cast size. Little Shop of Horrors has...what...8 parts? (Unless you don't play it true, and have the Dentist only play The Dentist.) Hello Dolly on the other hand is a stretch to be done with a cast under 25. So you should definitely keep cast size in consideration.
