All Star Casts/Favorite CharactersI know this has been done many times before, but I thought I'd bring this back. If this was done recently then I appologize.
Who are your favorites (* means favorite characters)? Who would your all star cast be?
Note: I am only using productions and actors I am more familiar with. Since I don't know much about the UK, or other productions, I'll just stick to what I know. This may be somewhat limited, but here goes:

Final Thoughts: Ok, so maybe I'm a little biased. I didn't realize how many ones I'd leave blank. Old D, and Grizabella? Where the heck are my priorities? Ha! I guess I've never really been a big fan of the bigger characters.
As for Munkustrap being my fave, I've become a traitor. When I was younger, it was Misto, but it changed when I got older. I didn't want to admit it for awhile, but there you go. I said it. Anyone else change their minds later on?

I actually didn't change my mind. I've always loved Munkustrap, Misto, Victoria and the Tugger. Though I think my love for Munkustrap and Tugger grew as I got older. I still love them all very much though.

Some performersI cannot give a complete cast list, but here are some suggestions in some parts:
I would love to have Peter Polycarpou take charge of Bustopher/Gus/Growltiger. While your choice of Hanan is admirable and I would love to hear how he has matured, I haven't had the chance to experience Peter Polycarpou in this part.
I'd love Bonnie Langford to be Rumpelteazer who can sing the revised setting.
Marlene Danielle would make an ideal Bombalurina, with the verve she brought to her performance.
I know this may sound outlandish, but what if Robert Torti or David Easter or Maynard Williams (past Pharaohs in Joseph) could interpret the role of the Tugger and imbuse the part with some kind of Elvis-like impersonation...
And would Michael Ball or Jason Donovan be an ideal Munkustrap and Colm Wilkinson be an ideal Old Deuteronomy?

I agree whole-heartedly. Especially Michael Ball and Colm Wilkinson. I've always pictured Ball as the silver tabby even though he's never played him, and Colm just has that warm, fatherly feeling of Old D.

Well Phyllida, is head of dance at GSA, so she doesn't perform as much anymore, she does a lot of choreography. She just choreographed Chorus Line as the grad show at GSA. She's also the resident choreographer for Mary Poppins.
I think Drew said something about him doing a lot of auditions - think that might be taking the auditions for things and he's being doing that for a couple of years now, so he's doing a lot of short choreography etc.

Hey Jenko - do you think that maybe you could ask him if he and Jo were dubbed for the Cats video? There seems to be a lot of speculation in the community as to if he and Jo were or were not dubbed.
Lol, you don't have to actually, but I figured as long as I'm talking to someone who knows Drew Varley, I might as well ask.

All the music was pre-recorded and then there was just a playback on set, just like phantom and JC.
oh, just so you get some more kicks out of it.... he took us for warm up this morning too lol

In the credits, it lists two people as the voices for Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer--but there's been some controversy about whether that credit is right or not.
What she's asking is, did Drew Varley and Jo Gibb sing their own parts, or were the vocals done by Paul Baker and Vicky Coote?

Haha...if you managed to get to ask him, that would put a definate end to the controversy on that issue.
I just got this mental image of him ranting on a youtube video about how they weren't dubbed...(which is my personal belief.) Don't know where that came from...maybe it's because I'm watching youtube vids at the moment...
