Yay! The new season at one of L.A.'s main theatres was announced and it's going to be all musicals this year! I love it (even though I've seen the majority of them already, but I'm happy to see them again) because now I can drag my "Broadway is useless" friends to see some great shows.

Season will include: Avenue Q, Sweeney Todd, The Drowsey Chaparone, The Color Purple, My Fair Lady, and A Chorus Line.

A part of me wishes they would've done some lesser-known shows, but hey, we don't get tons of musicals in L.A., so I'm content.

Oh, GOD!
I have to suscribe. They're doing all my favorite shows... except I saw Drowsy last time it was in LA and I've seen Avenue Q (in Vegas and NY) and I've of course seen MFL and ACL, but I don't mind seeing them again. And Sweeney is the Doyle production, I hope? I missed it in NY.

I'm kind of sad they won't be doing any plays. Virgina Woolf was REALLY good as well as Doubt.

I can't WAIT for Jersey Boys.

Oh my goodness! That is an excellent list of musicals! And I can finally have a chance to watch them instead of pining for the ones in New York. Thanks so much for posting this! It's seriously made my day.

Any ideas about who will be in the casts? *Begs for Sutton Foster, but knows it's not likely* Wait, she has already auditioned for something else anyway, right? Darn. Maybe I'll head over to the Ahmanson site...

Yeah, Doubt was at the Ahmanson. Not at the Pasadena Playhouse, but I did see Fences there, which was great. Oh, and I saw Sister Act.
