All good gifts soloists Unite.

After have been working on this song for about a month. I am coming to the realisation this really difficult song to sing. I am going to go ahead and say it is probably the most difficult song (vocally) to sing in the whole show.

Granted I am a little out of shape vocally. But no more than your average community theatre buff. I did tranpose this beast down a step since an A is out of my range.

What are your thoughts?

It is a tough song. It's the constancy of the upper register notes that is the killer. Very tiring on the vocal chords.

All (for) the best!

If you've mastered this one, start looking at the Elton John songbook for your cabarets- it's a very conscious imitation of an Elton John-style piano ballad. Some might say that it was before Elton's time, but a few of his albums, though not mainstream successes, were quite popular in the music and theater world at the time of Godspell, like Rufus Wainwright today.
