AliceWho is Alice? Does she sing and/or does she have any speaking lines?
Also, who is the headmistress? I was just cast as Alice/Headmistress. As I was auditioning for Martha, I do not know these parts. I would like to know a little more before I accept or decline the part.

She may have a few lines. She is in the chorus of dead people, or Dreamers. Don't think of chorus as a bad thing. I was in the chorus of this show and it seriously is one of the only shows I would EVER consider just doing chorus again...there is a TON of stuff to be done, especially if it is a small town community theatre lol. Have fun, it really is a blast. The Headmistress is only in one scene as a dramatic role...gets beat up a little by Mary...lol.

Not Literally though! Mary acts so horribly, throwing a tantrum and screaming in Indian as she runs around the room, throwing cookies, that the Headmistress leaves, telling Dr. Craven that what Mary has is a medical problem.

Doesn't Mary tramp on the Headmistress' feet too though?

Looking at the script, it says:
"Mary throws a cookie on the floor"...."Mrs. Winthrop forces Mary to pick up the cookie"... "She [Mary] throws a chair"... "Mary stamps on Mrs. Winthop's feet"... Then Mary has a tantrum... "Mrs. Winthrop picks up her purse and papers".
Those are the stage directions from the copy of the script that I have.

She's a friend of Rose(Mary's mother) who attend the party where they all caught the cholera and died. She and the other dreamers now haunt Mary, trying to help her with her new life.
