Alice in WonderlandCould anyone tell about this show? Like, is it a good musical, crappy, vocal ranges, characters, worth even auditioning for?
I already checked MTI, but it seemed very vague. So I decided to ask people who have probably knew this show.

I don't know, but I would assume MTI's Alice. Actually, I didn't know there was more than 1 verison of Alice! Care to enlightment me some more about Wonderland musicals?

Oh man...I auditioned for this like a week ago, thinking it was a non-musical play, and then they asked me to sing something. I had a horribly sore throat that day and ended up being cast as a card. Luckily though, it turns out I can't do it anyway because it confilcts with the speech team schedule. All that to say, yeah it seems like an okay musical. I haven't heard any of the songs but the lines they had us read weren't any worse than some other plays I've been in (which were actually really bad).

They finally released more infomation, but it was just about the plot.
| Quote: | | An original adaptation based on Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. The story begins with Alice and her older sister Margaret reading together. Suddenly, a White Rabbit appears from nowhere, Alice follows the rabbit to a strange and wonderful place. In the course of her adventures, Alice meets a band of Flowers, the King and Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat, and many more interesting characters. |
Does this help define what verison it is?

If it's "an original adaptation", that means your theatre/director wrote it.

Is this the Missoula Children's Theatre musical version? In their version the sisters name is Margaret and there is an actual band of flowers in it. The cast is huge - in fact there's 3 different Alices - Alice Small, Medium, Tall. The show is about an hr and the music is pretty adorable.

Yeah, it is! Do you know anything else about it, and why are their 3 Alices?

I know this isn't the one you're doing, but my junior high did Pioneer Drama's version. It was called Wonderland and actually based on Through the Looking Glass instead of Alice in Wonderland. However, it was really fun with all of the different characters like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and Humpty Dumpty. Humpty was a country singer and had "Dixie Chickens" sing back-up. And near the end, there's a feast where everyone's chanting "We want pudding!" So even though it's a different version, I'm sure it'll be fun just because Wonderland is such a fun, nonsensical place! HAVE FUN!

I did Alice a couple of years ago and there was 1 song in it.. it wasn't the musical version.. so i wonder what this version is like.. i played alice & it was a huge part.. .like 400 lines.. and it may have been a weird show to see becasue the lines for alice were so heavy and the other parts were extremely small... good luck though if you do the msuical version...

I played Alice in this version as well! I think I'd prefer the musical version; however, a bunch of my friends were in a musical version and despised it... might've just been the direction/cast, though.
