Ahhhhh!!! Audition for Aida in 2 hours!!!I just need somewhere to vent! Ok, so I've been trying to get into this theatre for about a half a year now. I tried out for 2 of their shows, never made it in. Then I took their summer acting camp. Now this is my chance to get in and prove to them that I can do it, but I'm extremelly nervous! I feel like if I don't make it in I'll have failed. I know I'll keep trying, but so much seems to be riding on this audition. All I want to be is in the corus!! I'll be jumping up and down if I get made a palace girl! That's how badly I want to get in...

Don't freak yourself out or get to worked up because it will only make it harder to have a good audition. Just tell yourself that you are just as good as anyone else auditioning (which you are) and just do your best.
Anyway, three times the charm

that's all I've been able to do for the past hour. The callback was somewhat rigged. I had no chance to prove myself. The director picked the people he had worked with before to go out for leads and the rest of us, around 30 to be exact, had to fight it out for about 4 chorus spots. I've never worked with that director before, and he would never have picked me.... I usually dont get too dissapointed about these things, but I've been working so hard for this and I just fell brocken.

Theater, unfortunately, is a cut throat industry, even when salaries aren't involved. Directors can be cruel and auditions unfair. The important thing is to remember that you tried your -best-. Even if, for whatever reason, it didn't work out, you always have your passion for theater. Don't let anyone or anything rob you of that. Just keep trying and you'll get there eventually. It takes time, but, also takes love for the craft.
Don't give up hope!

Thanks guys. I know I'll keep going, and I obviously know this isn't the end, but I feel really hopeless right now. I'm just staying in my pajamas all day and eating ice cream. I have another audition coming up in a few weeks so I'll just put all of my emotion and energy into that. But I'm gonna take a day off from being a positive person . I'll get right back on it tomorrow lol.
