AGONY!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfO9riNtzOY&search=Wicked

It's beyond painful.
BrightEyes

NO NO NO! Why would you post that link? That video is pure torture. I just had to go and click it, didin't I? Rolling Eyes
Luc

Thanks for giving me nightmares for a month!!! Twisted Evil

That's pretty sad that people actually do that. WHY WOULD SOMEBODY FILM THEMSELVES WHILE SINGING A SONG IN THEIR BEDROOM???

Tell me about it! I can't imagine anything more embarassing...
broadwayboy09

Thanks for the laugh!!!!
convict24601

Not to be rude but....

firstly they were not INSTENSELY singing, or even singing at all.

Secondly - one has pitch problems, the other needs to learn the words.

I wonder why people would put this stuff on the internet.
happyguava

Good grief. That was beyond funny. It was so terrible I couldn't even laugh!

Good for self-esteem though, makes me feel better about my voice!
<3Wilson<3

haha thats all I can say.

OHHHHHHH MAHHHEEEEEY GAAAAAAWWWD!!!!! It's hurting my eaaaaaaars!

Honestly the only bad thing with that video, lalala, is that chick's camera "skills".
lalala

Searching for "me singing" on Youtube is the funniest thing, you get people like these two - singing and seriously believing that they're the greatest.

It's mean, but at least it makes me feel better to know that on any given 'bad-voice-day', I'll sound better than these two.

^^Amen

AGONY!!!!!!!

Some people just think they are the best and they get so full of themselves. Their parents probably brag and brag to everyone they know about how good those two can sing. I thought my eardrums would break!
Tiny-Tot

That was sooooooooooooo funny. I hope those two were just joking around for there own sake.
norayouadora

Ohhh, I dunno. Is it really all that shocking to see two friends screwing around with a camera and the Wicked OCR? You all seem to be reacting as if you never would have thought of this in your wildest dreams... But honestly, I can certainly imagine my friends and I doing something equally as stupid, if not more so. And worse yet, we wouldn't lip synch--we'd actually sing the words! So what's the big deal? It could have been much, much worse. I thought it was funny, and who says that you have to be a great singer to be a fan of the show, anyway? Very Happy
lalala

Well, no.. I *can* imagine this in my wildest dreams. I realise that there are probably rabid Wicked fangirls all over the world doing this in their bedrooms.

They don't have to be good singers to enjoy the show. I personally sing the songs from it sometimes, with my boyfriend trying as he might to play Elphaba against my G(a)linda! It's shockingly bad, it's terribly funny for those involved and we are just joking around.

But there is a difference when you actually go to the trouble to film it and publish it, expecting kudos. It's just scary.[/u]

The kicker is that they actually put it online for all to mock. No one would really care if they'd kept the horror to themselves.
norayouadora

Ha! Funny that you should say that, TVAW. When I was typing my post, I thought about saying "of course, my friends and I wouldn't put the video online," etc etc, but I wasn't sure if that would have been entirely honest. Hehe. I guess some people are just exhibitionists. Very Happy But if that's why you find it annoying, I suppose I can't blame you. It takes a certain dumb audacity to post a video of oneself on the internet... Usually it's dumbness more than anything else.
MademoiselleMusicals

Watched for 22 seconds and I had enough.
Etoile

Wow...I had my volume muted and I was still scared.
bwaybrunette21

That was kind of funny, but it didn't really give me agony. It was just two Wicked fans making a little joke. As someone said before, you don't need to be talented to like Wicked.

Yeah, but you need talent to sing the songs. I hate seeing a good song slaughtered.

Yeah lol me too! Shocked
TheNextTenMinutes

You know, this reminds me of one time when I was sitting on a bus, enjoying the ride, when suddenly, with no warning or preamble, the two pre-teens who had been sitting behind me and, up until then, had just been plain annoying, burst into "Popular". It was so weird, they both did it at the same time, as though they had suddenly dropped into a Wicked induced trance-like state. When they finished singing "Popular"- out of key, may I add- they fell silent for about five seconds before starting into "The Wizard and I". I assumed they must have been listening to an iPod or MP3 player or SOMETHING becasue there was no way they could have just started at the same time as they did. I turned around to snaek a peek- nothing. Nothing at all.
Anyway, at that point a sort of doom-laden feeling crept upon me as I realised that they obvisouly knew the whole soundtrack, word for word, and had the entrie bus ride to finish it.
Luckily, the bus driver stopped the bus and asked them to stop singing so loudly before they got to Defying Gravity. I am eternally grateful toward him, believe me.
lalala

Oh my.. sounds positively horrible. It is kind of funny though when you know a soundtrack so well that you know exactly how long the pause is between tracks!
TheNextTenMinutes

I agree, funny. But not ha-ha funny. Hehe.
It did sort of show me how far Wicked has reached though. I live in a small city in Australia, where no one knows anything about musicals unless, like me, they aspire to be in them. I sense a lot of Wicked in the future.
frodolover456

I had to click on it didn't I? That was TERRIBLE!!!!! None of them could sing! Why risk the embaressment? Film it, sure, film it. But DON'T PUT IT ON THE INTERNET FOR THE WHOLE WORLD TO SEE!!!!!! Those girls didn't know what they were doing!
lalala

Actually, after I first posted it here, I was suddenly struck by a feeling of terror - what if, after slamming it and laughing at it, some poor soul emerged here and said "Well, guys.. that was me and my best friend singing on that video".

Although I admit to watching these videos, sometimes I feel bad too. Like, these girls probably didn't expect a little fun video of themselves that they posted on youtube to be the center of a little discussion of how bad their voices are on musicals.net. It's not your fault, it's there's for posting it in the first place, I'm just saying that I agree with you - if someone was to read these comments and find out it was their's they'd feel horrible.

Well by posting it on a site like you tube, they are just opening themsevles to any type of attention, whether it be positive or negative. If they are stupid/silly enough to post something on youtube, then they have to realize not everyone's going to be all "oMg yOusoUnD juST lYkE IDiNa." And actually, if anyone said that, I'd find them, and kill them.

Though you're right I don't thik they'd have expected it to float over here and take two pages of discussion board topic up.

aww, these poor people. Haven't actually watched the vid yet. YouTube is down, but I must say I am rather terrified.

I found a video once of these two people singing "As Long As You're Mine" it was freaky. She wore a dress almost exactly like Elphaba's, and he was dressed like Fiyero. They had a black backdrop and she was painted green.

and then they started singing. Actually singing not lip-syncing. It was scary. and they acted it out too. I felt very awkward watching it so I cut it off after like 30 seconds.

Sad part is they thought they were good, and they spent all this time and effort filming it. Poor people.

It certainly makes me feel better about my self though.

I would love you forever if you found that video again...and maybe posted the link lol

Agreed. It made my computer freeze up. I think it was my laptop's way of saying they needed to go.
Green.Witch

WTF?

"I'm gonna be popular?"

LMFAO

That was the highlight of my day.
TheNextTenMinutes

Hahahaha. I am tempted to "flag as inappropriate" the "As Long As You're Mine" video...huge makeout fest! You were right about it being creepy. Maybe they're like those couples that are X-Files fans and dress up as Mulder and Scully for...you know, kicks. They both have nice voices, and the makeup for Elphaba is great, but they just constantly went out of tune!
theonetowatch

i love when they try to redeem themselves:

*MOD EDIT* - This entry was inappropriate...
What Is This Feeling?

Oh dear, oh dear, that was AMAZINGLY... PATHETIC!!! I know, they were just fooling around, but still.... why film that? I guess just to be funny lol
zeppy1223

I love when the girl that pretends to be elphaba lip syncs "is ever gonna bring me down" and falls to her knees.
beck

ickkkkk. what the hell was that? lol, honestly..she wasnt even singing, she was mouthing the words, what was it supposed to prove? ..and when her friend chimed in..well, she's tone deaf. why do people refuse to stop annoying me.
