Ours were about 12 or 13, I think. Their actual ages don't matter; They just have to look like little girls.

In one production they were 8 and 10, in the other 8 and 12.

Ours were actually pretty old, as Shprintze and Bielke go. Shprintze was 16 and Bielke was 12 - they played 12 and 10 respectively. But then, Chava was 18, Hodel was 20, and Tzietel was 23, so there was some leeway since all the sisters were playing younger. No way could either of the younger two be teenagers if Chava was really 14.

see .. in our cast Tzeital is 23, Hodel is 30 (but she doesnt look her age.)Im 17 and playing chava (but i look 12!!!), Shprintze is 13 and bielke is a very cute 11!

I echo this! But most of the ones I've seen were between 8 and 12.

My Golde was only 19 at the time of the production. Perchik, Hodel, Tzietel, Fyedka, and possibly Motel were all older than her, and Tevye was old enough to be her grandpa. And she still convinced seamlessly in appearance, vocal maturity, and acting ability. You would have guessed she was maybe 45. In my opinion, she was the single really applaudable performance in that production. Everyone else was adequate but paled next to her.

we had two sets. One was about 11 and 13 and the other was and 8 and 10. the 8 and 10 year old pair was later removed from the role and just became plain old ensemble because they weren't taking the part seriously and weren't following direction.

In myn they are 11 and 10, Shprintze actually looks younger then Bielke
