I have auditions at a community theater for Oliver! and I was inquiring age the age range for Nancy. I will be 20 at the time of the audition and was wondering if I have a chance of being cast as Nancy.

It depends on the rest of the cast. I was 35 when I was cast as Nancy, and I've seen older women doing it. If the rest of the adult cast are young too then you'll be fine, its more in the voice and the acting. Can you look as if you've been round the block a bit or do you portray youthful innocence?

I just did Oliver last summer and the girl the got cast was 20, so I don't see why not?

In Fine Life (Reprise) she says "I've been out on the streets for you since I was a child half his age" and depending on the version, she's been working for Fagin for either 12 or 15 years. So she's probably between 18 and 25

Yeh, mostly depends on the age of the cast. I like Nancy around 28 and 29. But that's just me.

I've appeared in Oliver! and then Nancy were played by a girl aged 16. She did a great job!
But I guess the real age of Nancy should be a place between 30 and 40 years. If you have seen the movie (musical version), she looks like she is somewhere between this ages.

I think Nancy should be 20+ but could be played by a 16 year old.

However there is Bette as well? Can't remember Nancy's friend who is younger I think...

i'll try to stay on topic but i really need to know:

i'm auditioning for a youththeatre production of oliver in nov.
i'll b 14 but i look older than i actually am
i belt upto a 4th space e
i can reach a low e/eb

do i stand a higher chance of being cast as Nancy or Bet or Charlotte or another character?
