After the movie...

I have been letting all my show choir friends borrow my copy of the Hearn/Lansbury dvd. I handed it to one girl and told her she had to watch it before she sees the movie. She loved it! Now everybody is waiting in line to borrow it.

Has anyone else had this type of experience and addicted their friends to the original Sweeney Todd?

I don't really bother, actually...but it helps that I'm not a fan of Angela Lansbury. XD

I introduced my friend to Sweeney Todd by having us watch the Hearn/Lansbury DVD the night before we saw the Depp film, and she loved it!

I've introduced Sweeney Todd to...*counts*...at least 10 people in this way...all have loved it and are/were very anxious to see the film afterwards.

I've forced my cousin and a friend into Sweney...actually my cousin was a very willing participant after hearing about the Johnny Depp movie, and my other friend visited the Sweeney Todd museum in London, told me about it, and then I forced her to listen to music from the show. For my sleepover B-Day party, we watched the Hearn/Lansbury movie....we fell asleep half-way through and had to finish it in the morning Mr. Green

Now all they need is a set of museums to other serial killers, such as Jack the Ripper, and I'll die happy.

Is there a website i can visit about it? Does anyonne know the name of the museum??
Mistress

You know I could be wrong about that...my friend said she visited a museum in London where apparently they had Sweeney's chair....or maybe it was New York???I'll have to ask her for the details....sorry for the false alarm Sad
musical_maven

yes, please ask for details!!!!!!!

In London they have an underground museum of all the famous killers in London. One of the things is you sit in Sweeneys chair and they do somthing where air goes across your throat to scare you. My friend went and he said it was cool.
Mistress

Ooooooh...that sounds cool Mr. Green
musical_maven

Where in London is it???? Do you have any other information on it???
musical_maven

Is it called the London Dungeon???

I convinced my brother to see the movie and he really liked it. Then afterwords I showed him some clips on youtube with George Hearn...and he hated them d'oh! Rolling Eyes o well. I tried.
Mistress

Yeah, I saw the movie Wednsday. It was quite marvelous, although I was a caught a little offguard by all the cuts made...I got very vocal in the theatre about. That and my singing along probably made me one very annoying theatre patron. I was with my friend, whi kept covering her eyes whenever the blood came. It did look like something out of an old B movie, but I was still slightly unsettled by it, more so when poor Cohen (Pirelli) got whacked with the kettle and Rickman got stabbed with the razor (I didn't know you could actually do that with a razor). I was also slightly confused by the ending. If I hadn't seen or known about the show before hand, I would've have thought Toby was perfectly sane when killing Todd...he looked like someone killing a man he knew to be evil amd who killed the only person he cared about. I was also pleasantly surprised to see HBC cry when sje locked Toby in the bakehouse. I also liked Cohen's deamonour in the blackmail scene. He really downplayed the character at that point, which is something new and pleasant. Vocally, I enjoyed Rickman and Cohen's vocals the most. HBC was decent on the higher notes, thin on the low ones and Depp was decent enough, nice and angry in his own way, but not much vocal range. The acting however, was marvelous on all counts.
