Ado Annie's Range?

Could an alto pull off Ado Annie if she could be a soprano???....I know I'm not making much sence, but I can be an alto or soprano, but more comfortable when I'm an alto. Could I pull off Ado Annie? By the way, we are not doing All 'er Nothin'.... That stinx but yeah...

Basically, you're a mezzo soprano. You could try. Do you know what your range is?

Nope- but I'm going to start voice like next month, so hopefully I'll know then, and this is a middle school musical, so I don't think they'll care TOO much how high I sing it.......

Yeah, it depends on your range. If you're not doing "All 'Er Nuthin'," the highest note you'll probably have to reach is a C or a D in "I Cain't Say No." It's preferrable for this song to be belted, but it can probably be mixed on the high notes (or some of the higher parts can be simply spoken, rather than sung). Since this is a middle school show, they might even just choose you for the part and work something out later for the songs... Depends on how much talent there is in your school. But yes, long-story-short, I think you'd certainly have a chance. Especially if you can comfortably do those notes.

I can, and I've peen practicing so hard and learned all the notes. I think I'll be able to pull it off. If I don't get her, I'd like to possibly get Aunt Eller or Gertie. Have any suggestions for them or anything I'd need to know at all?

Check out some of the other various threads on the Oklahoma! forum. I posted a few times a while back when I was preparing for auditions, and the threads are probably still there. Plus plenty of others... Otherwise, try Googling the show and see what comes up. Smile
