SO, what do you guys reeeeally think of Adam? (Roger= Rent/ Radames=Aida)

I personally think his voice is TO DIE FOR, and i chose not to see Rent on broadway when i was there last year, because noone could compare to him.

Am i wrong?

To not see the show because of that, yes I think you are wrong. There are Rogers out there as good as Adam Pascal, if not even better vocally. But I agree, Adam is great. Personally, I don't think he should return to Rent because there is so many new things he could do. Would you want to do the same show eight times a week for ten years? One of the reasons Rent is so great with Adam and the rest of the OBC is that it is so special to them and you really feel that. I don't think it would keep the same effect.

He's alright, I mean, he's most deff not as perfect as a lot of people say he is, but I love him. Although, he can be big headed, I remember someone saying that they heard him say that after Rent and Aida he had "conquered Broadway", and while I love those two shows, they are by no means conquering Broadway.

He's already said he's done with RENT, that he won't be doing it anymore. And I agree with TVAW, he's too old. The characters in RENT don't have specified ages (aside from Mimi- though I don't think either Rosario or Daphne looked 19), but there comes a point when it just gets riddiculous.
From his movie performance, I would say he doesn't have the power to do RENT anymore, but based on clips from RENT 10, I think he still could do it, but I don't think he should.

most definitely. i think he did brilliantly as roger. really captured that former-rocker, heart-broken, hiding-himself personality.

i think that no one can top the OBC of RENT cause the original cast was ah-mazing although and i kinda hate to say this i perfered Rosario over Daphne...but i think Adam is getting a little old and he doesnt fit the part as well when he was younger...but i dont think that anyone can ever have the chemistry and raw talent that the OBC had...they also had a REALLY special bond because they all had to cope with the death of Jonathan together...nothing brought that cast closer together, so they had a rock-solid chemistry that i dont think any other cast has had

Some of you seem to have forgotten that before RENT, he had no prior experience with acting. He was in a rock band - thus this makes him an incredible live performer and singer, but personally, I think his acting was slightly off. Of course, with practice he improved greatly (looking at clips from ten years ago and the movie) but in 1996, he was just a rock singer trying to act with the same gusto as which he sang. Cue over-dramatic lines and actions. I do think there are many great Rogers out there, some definitely with more fluid acting, but Adam's Roger will always have that hard rock edge to it.
