Actor's fund of American Benefit concert DVD?Hi AllI have been looking all over the net for a copy of this concert without sucess. Was it ever released on DVD or was it just broadcast and it's just down to finding someone that made a copy of it? I've seen a few bits on youtube and I have a copy of the audio but I haven't been able to locate a DVD of the whole show. Can anyone point me in the right direction or is it just a case of scouring eBay and hoping? Cheers |

I've bought 3 of his chess cds with no troubles, his service is good. |

I have a copy of the stage benefit (Adam Pascal, Josh Groban, etc. and Ann Harada of Ave. Q was in it... didn't know that!)
Josh Groban looks like he is 15 when up against the woman they got to play Florence, I was ready for someone to call out "RAPE!!" Even when Sutton Foster came on as Svetlana, he looked really young. Not the best casting choice, but hey, it was only for one night and there wasn't much acting involved anyways |

Thanks meva - I got a copy of the audio from some crook that just sent a couple of burned cd's in a normal envelope. They worked but it certainly wasn't value for money.
Thanks for the heads up on this one. |

Hmmm...I didn't even know there was a dvd available in any shape or form and so I've considered buying this just to get a copy. But I'm wary after what you said, ekrueger24. I don't really want to buy a bad version of the show, just for the sake of "having a copy". What's the overall show like? Worth the money? Also, you say there's "not much action involved"...reminds me of when they do ALW tributes released onto video/dvd. (Not that they're bad in anyway, it's just what springs to mind lol)
Also, Slaine, what you said about the CD : "certainly wasn't value for money", does that reflect the quality of the dvd performance too? Any advice? Thanks much. ~Rachel |

The show is downright amazing. Almost every single performance is jaw-dropping, even if the performers don't "move around" a lot. If you buy a first-generation copy of the recording, the recording quality is pristine, as it was professionally shot.
The audio bootleg copy that is heavily circulated isn't worth your time. It's a pity that the Actors' Fund couldn't record an official benefit CD due to issues with Josh Groban's record label. |

Aaaah it looks like that dvd was sold on the 7th. Hmm...I must be missing something (or blind) cause I could have sworn it was still available yesterday lol. XD Oh well...just gonna have to wait for another copy to spring up. Though goodness knows when that will be. Shame really. |

No the quality was fine but the CD's came on two copies that were sent in a normal envelope - no padding, no liners, not even a piece of paper between the two CDs. And they were damn expensive. Can't complain about the quality of the recording though. |
