Hey there!!
auditions coming up with my am dram for oklahoma! anyway im english and my american accent is pretty decent but ive never done a southern american accent before! i'd really love the part of ado annie so if anyone can give me some helpful hints for the character or help with the accent it would be much appriciated!!!

the accent used isn't really southern, not a drawl. The dialogue is written is such a was as to give you certain ways to say certain words.
Are you required to use an accent to audition?

the accent is written in the script. if i remember correctly,the lines are written phonetically.

oh is it thats a relief then, its my first time doing this show so ive never seen the script!! They haven't stated that you have to use an accent for the audition but it usually helps! shows you can do it that way i suppose no good giving the part to someone who can't i suppose! thanks for the help
