about over the moon (the meaning)

could someone pls tell me the whole idea/meaning of 'over the moon'? cuz i'm gonna use it as a monologue in class.. and also how it relates to real life, and its morals.. pls? thanks! Smile

It's sort of an allegory (so to say) for what is going on in the plot.

"Cyberland" in the song refers to the company (or whatever) that Benny is starting. I think Elsie, the cow, represents just a figure of society in Benny's future or how Maureen might see herself in the future. I think this line: "They closed everything real down like barns and troughs and performance spaces, and replaced it all with lies and rules and virtual life" is self explanatory. The lap dog, Benny, again, self explanatory. He is a lapdog to Miffy or Muffy or whatever the name is of that chick he's engaged/married to. The dish and the spoon could be Mark and Roger. And the leap of faith, of course, is protest or riot.

All of this is just my opinion/interpretation.
