about 'out tonight' (a question)..

uhmm.. does rosario say in out tonight 'your SPEED wanna hit the street?'? or does she say 'you're SWEET wanna hit the street'? . cuz i'm really confused about that. can ne1 clear this up for me?
pish123c

"Sweet"
But I know what you mean, it is sort of hard to tell in the movie. I think the lyrics are the same though, she just slurs it.

Either way, "Sweet" or "Speed" fits the character and song in my opinion.

This is a really good resource for any RENT questions, or any questions at all. Not very well known, apparently, but I love it!

I usually put "(sp?) at the end if I'm not sure on spelling, looks like I forgot.

Maybe in the future you can take a look at yourself before you attack someone else. Otherwise you look silly. Just a thought.

I don't class it as an attack, just telling a n00b. We were all n00bs once.

And I had already told them before I spelled wrong.
SuperKabob

everybody, take a breath. now slowly back away from the thread.
wicked_boy

*breathes deep*

That worked, thanks SuperKabob, good advice. Good job you saved the day before this got into a small arguement.
nozeij14

hey, didn't i just say 'ne1' and 'cuz'? how HARD is IT for you to understand that? YOUR slang is even more hard to understand than mine.

then what do you call it? and besides, YOU were the first one to tell me to speak in normal english. and to look on the web. actually, i know that the lyrics really says 'SWEET', but if you really hear it in the song, you can mistake it for 'SPEED'
SuperKabob

^^you. deep breath. now.

Namiko Nakamura

...Wow. I am in love with you all.

Honestly, however, efficient grammar is key to a happy, successful life.

I have the movie vocal selections...has anyone else noticed the changes in some of the lyrics?

Wow. Haha, I came to this forum to find out about Rent, and I chanced upon this lovely argument. This has nothing to do with our beloved musical. Isn't it kind of silly to waste time and space by picking on people? Why is it any business of yours to correct the way someone writes? It just makes you look pretentious, and a wee bit like you got up on the wrong side of the bed. Maybe you had an abusive English teacher growing up.

Sorry, just felt I had to say something because I'm kind of new to this site, and to come as an outsider to this forum and see this kind of thing may sour my opinion of it. It's not really pleasant, and totally unnecessary. Think about it! You're representing the forum. Why would I, as a newbie to this site, want to post a question or a reply on this board if I thought I would just be picked on because of it by people who assume they're better than me?

People see enough snotty attitudes in the real world. Let's not have it here, yes?

To quote the voice of reason: Breathe.

Smile Thanks, sorry, my two cents. Had to say it.

I was simply telling a n00b, I'd rather be told by myself than have some of the other people on this board tell me off. I wasn't picking on them, I was telling them in a very sarcastic way.
musikal_geek

Okay guys, can we let this go, PLEASE?

I'm curious... what changes did they make? [I haven't got the vocal selections or movie soundtrack, just the OBCR] Anything significant? I'd only noticed that they change "Christmas Eve" to "New Year's Eve" which is understandable, and frankly, paces the first act, well, half of the movie better.
