I have something that is very sad to admit! Before I tell you though, I would like to say that I now am a totally obsessed Wicked fanatic who has every song memorized! (In fact, I am listening to it as I type this!)

My uncle is an actor and he told my mom about this musical, Wicked, and gave us a copy of the recording! It was about one or two years after it came out! Now, here is the shocker! I thought I was going to hate it! I didn't even want to listen to it! No lie! Once I listened to it though, I was completely hooked! Every day, I would say, "Can we see Wicked soon?" My mom was getting really annoyed! The first time I saw it we had to go to downtown Chicago, so my mom surprised me and told me we were going to try the lottery! We won and was right in the middle of the front row! Ironicly enough, the second time I saw it, I was in the second to last row of the balcony! I am so ashamed of myself!

Star2beallie...I didn't mean anything to you. I'm just SO sick of hearing people bash Wicked. It's not a bad show. It's not the best piece of musical theatre ever written, but it isn't a bad show.

Obviously, the person who posted this is probably a newcomer to theatre because of Wicked. Eventaually, he'll probably see more shows. If he's a true Wicked fangirl, he'll still like Wicked over everythign else. But, maybe he'll see other shows and fall in love with them, and Wicked will be a mere gateway into theatre.

And, who cares if the kid has every song memorized? I have Damn Yankees, Anything Goes, Music Man, Bye Bye Birdie, Phantom and Fiddler memorized, but I also have Wicked memorized. Are you going to be upset at me for having Wicked memorized, too?

Oh well, I didn't mean anything to you by the eyeroll. I was just sort of annoyed that people think so low of Wicked. Anyway, I'm done.

And I don't think everyone who likes the show is a Wicked fangirl either. This one was just hysterical and I couldn't resist messing with her...

Yeah, I was very much a squeely fangirl until the initial excitement wore off...but I still love Wicked to death and will defend it to the end...anyway, I think I may be getting completely obsessed again, as I spent almost every free minute of my time watching SJB Wicked Youtube clips...but that may also be my SJB obssession kicking in again...man I want to see her live...in ANYTHING. I think I'm one of the few here who likes her this much oh well, I don't care...SJB will rule the world one day!

It was Youtube that got me into the show...just random surfing one day, than I though "hey iof they have POTO clips on here, maybe they'll have Wicked...I've been meaning to check that one out." And the rest is history.

We were going to go see it on Broadway for our band now we're going to see Rent, very bummed, I love Wicked, but Rent was only ok...so getting to see it in the front row isn't that bad...

I am a die-hard Gothic/Symphonic metal fan, but when I saw Wicked over a year ago I was totally blown away. By now my Wicked recording has taken a backseat to my new WT, AF and NW CDs, but it's still good.

LOL!! i love the fact you all have it memorised! ill join you all in saying i sooooo do tooo!!!! however mines for different reasons as i had to learn the songs to perform them! but i must say that ' As long as your mine' and 'defying gravity' have got to be too of the hardest songs in the whole play...

anyone think any other songs are really hard to sing ?? xxx

I think people mocking wicked fans is much much much MUCH more annoying than the actual fans.

If I have to see one more "OMG, I lyke wicked is the best evah!" post that is supposed to be mocking people, I'm going to punch something. It's not a funny joke. Mocking netspeak hasn't been funny for years. YEARS.

I honestly don't get why people come to this forum (the wicked forum) just to bash it. Not to make legitimate arguments or to discuss it, but simply to mock and roll their eyes at the fans of the show. It's really immature, much more immature than the people you are making fun of.

I like Wicked. It isn't my favorite show, but it probably is in my top 10. I'm not new to theatre, although I'm far from an expert. I know lots of shows. And I still like it. It's my opinion. Go ahead and judge me, but keep it to yourself.

Umm, I didn't come to the Wicked forum. It was on the home page and I just clicked on it and was annoyed. Let me tell you why...
Nobody does that for any other show on this site.
It's just Wicked. Don't know why.

You don't see fangirls going OMG! Anything Goes is lyk the best show evah squared!
If they did I'm sure they'd get mocked too...or maybe not, because the music and characters actually have substance...
