A SECOND PART OF EVITA??????

I have recently read something very brief about Madonna starring a new version of Evita. She was in the picture with Alan Parker and ALW.
Does anyone know anything about it?
Thanks a lot!

This is probably one of those rumours that go with the restaging of Evita in London soon.
Brother Marvin Hinten, S.

Yeah, maybe it's that rumor about her supposedly being cast in the revival.
Evita_Magdalene_Peron

it seems to me imposible that would be a second part of evita, because eva dies at the end , so it´d be funny a musical after evitás death in underworld hahah.
Emperor of the Fiends

Not true. They have cast Eva.

Evita will be played by Elena Roger (not Rogers), she also played Fantine here in Argentina.

I wonder if they'll record a new cast album? ALW is redoing the entire score. Plus, You Must Love Me is included.

I'd be 99% certain that they will. The did it with Tell Me On A Sunday. He seems confident enough to re-master and re-release the old shows as well.

Oh good! I really like that song.

I hope they don't change it like they did in the movie where Eva sings "Another Suitcase in Another Hall." I like it much better when Peron's mistress sings it after she gets kicked out by Eva.

oh god. oh. god. unless this is sarcasm, i think i shall die. madonna sucks as evita. in the 1996 movie they had to lower all of her songs like three keys because she couldn't sing them. and now she thinks she was "destined" for the part. ha. if you want a real evita, check out patti lupone.
The Very Angry Woman

You bumped this up just to say that?

Yet I know this:

1. Madonna said that she was "the only one who could play the part for the film."

2. She studied EVERYTHING to do with the Peron's and the Peron administrartion. She even talked to people who were in the Peronist party to try and get insight into what Eva was like in person. "Everyone I talked to was either completely for her or completely against her. There was no middle ground." she said "So I had to ask myself 'Where's the truth in all of this?' "

3. While rehearsing "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina," Patti LuPone (yes, Patti LuPone) came in for her vocal warm-up and training with her (and Madonna's) teacher. She heard Madonna's rendition and said Madonna would do a great job! Very high praise if I do say so myself.

I like LuPone and Madonna. I wish Madonna would sing it again.

Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

AMEN!!!! LuPone rocks my socks off.... I love her. I especially love what she did with Mrs. Lovett in Sweeny.
