you mean talent is now a prequisite to be in chicago? just have a retrospective look at who they've cast in the past 
kidding aside, dannii was in the hunchback of notre dame and she's pretty good at dancing and singing live. not so sure about the acting part.

I disagree. I've never really had a problem with people they've cast in Chicago.
I think just because someones a celebrity, people write them off as "NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE STAGE *GROWL*" which I don't think is very fair.
