Yes, I've seen it done. I've seen the chorus be comprised of fairies and gnomes or other fairy tale characters. They can sing in the prologue ("Into the Woods"), "First Midnight", "Ever After", the act II prologue ("So Happy"), and the finale ("Children will Listen"). Also, I have often seen the chorus move sets and such.

I never heard of Faeries, but that sounds really wicked. What we are doing is having the few people who didn't get a part as trees. But I've heard of dwarves to carry to dead off stage, birds 'fly' on stage and talk to Cinderella and the 3 little pigs during Hello Little Girl.

Ooh. I wouldn't do that. Being cast as a "tree" is this horrible theatre stereotype. It is the stereotypical crap role. If I were you, I would discourage the director from doing that.

I agree that it's a horrible role, but it works out best for and the trees have gotten to pretty much like thier parts, mostly because they have zero musical experince(1 of them was in last year's show, but it would be good for her to get more experince anyways).

It could be worse. They could have been cut from the show and not gotten a part at all. I was chorus for 3 shows before I got a part!

Its a bad role yes but at least they will be able to sing and we won't have a million more stage crew people (Like we already do now) and we are on a very cheap budget so making a complete set would be very difficult. And even so they will get to react to the characters somewhat. So its not that bad
