I'm thinking about doing 'A Boy Like That/I Have A Love' with a friend of mine for a theatre contest in Jan. but the song needs to be under 5mins

I think it probably goes over by about a min. and a half or so-

can anyone suggest some good places to make cuts? I'm having a hard time figuring that one out...
do you think the whole first verse of 'I have a love' would work to cut it out?

I edited the song down for a musical revue a couple of years ago. It's difficult, because of all the modulations but it is possible. I can't remember exactly what we did, but I think it involved moving the second "Oh no Anita no" to an earlier point in the song, possibly even to the first time it is sung. Alternatively, we also may have made the same cut to the song that was made for the film - but I think, once again that this was made difficult because of all the modulations. But I could be mistaken....
