A few tips while making a post:
- Try to make the subject header relevant to the topic of the post. Many people don't read every thread that comes up, so if your title is a good hint as to what the contents will be, you will get the people who want to say something checking out the thread.
- Try to keep the topic to one major theme, you've presented two totally separate topics: 1) We're doing Chicago even though some parents are against it and 2) I saw high school musical and it wasn't like the movie (poor you ...really you have my pity)
- Try to avoid excessive punctuation...oddly enough the only case of this was in your thread title...but that was ALL it was. This leads me to believe you might need this piece of advice. Rarely are more than one exclamation mark needed. Exceptions include when you are excited about your production of Oklahoma! or Oliver! (as the titles include a !) and thus the title is immediately followed by another exclamation mark (e.g. "Today we opened our production of Oliver!!"). These cases are rare, so pretty much just assume 1 piece of punctuation is needed (maybe a ?! might be appropriate, but again, not usually).
- Try to use the shift key, the word cool, chicago, high, school and musical should all involve this key (if I'm missing something oblah dee, the key is that you make an effort to look slightly intelligent in your posts format, I don't think people will jump on your back if you make one mistake).
- Try to use better grammar and spelling. You made some simple errors with anywyas jounior and the incorrect usage of is instead of are (as well as not pluralizing parent). Just a spell check on Microsoft Word should clear this problem up.
- This isn't the case with your post, but just a general warning: do not use excessive emoticons. I'd stick to one per post, unless it's a long post then a few more could be used. Again exceptions apply.
- Lastly, when posting a thread try to give a better hint as to what sort of responses you want. What information do you want to get from others with this thread? Of course eventually the conversation may flow on its own, but its nice to have a starting point such as "Has anyone else seen the stage version of High School Musical?" or "Has anyone else had problems with doing Chicago in school?" (to the latter, there are actually some very interesting cases that could be brought up).
Thanks for reading and I hope you learned something. Welcome to the boards, I hope you can be a helpful, insightful, intelligent member of this community.
~The Lone Wanderer
P.S. If I made stupid mistakes in my response, my bad. The point is not that every mistake needs to be fixed, but rather that a general attempt to follow basic grammar rules should be seen.

I would still follow most of those tips when replying to other posts. You don't seem to have followed any of them in your reply, which was short so thats impressive (bad spelling, excessive emoticons, lacking shift key usage).
C'mon, it's not hard to type correctly, just put a little bit of effort in.

You could, however, make an effort to be kind to those around you. You don't have to want me to like you, and I think it's clear neither of us likes eachother, but you could at least follow simple guidelines to make your posts easier/nicer for others to read.
I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm trying to help you.
You however, are simply trying to be a dick.

Rarely does it. I find most of the posters who end up being really um...intelligent? Well spoken? Not sure what word I'm looking for but generally just good posters tend to start out posting a few well thought out posts and eventually just feel comfortable posting more. Rather than making tons of really dumb posts and trying to pick fights. Those people tend to stay like that for quite a while.

I apologize for the emoticon, but something about this response immediately conjured up the desire to post a Mr. Green. That said, there really ought to be a sticky of the rules you posted, Lone. Though I'm charmed that you would put so much effort into the admonishment of a new member. But I suppose someone has to do it, so why not you? Haha.
As for broadway_my_way, I don't mean to be rude, but Lone is doing you a favor. People on this site (myself included) can get very annoyed by members who lack basic typing skills. All he did was politely ask you to take more care in your posting, and I think it was somewhat unfair of you to attack him for that. I highly doubt that the next person to correct you will be as courteous.
Welcome to MdN.

I'm going to try and stay out of this best I can, but let me just ask:
broadway_my_way what specific things are different about HSM on stage than in the movie? I ask because I might be in a production of it this fall...
