13 yr old boy? This summer I will be participating in a summer camp and they are doing ANNIE for their production (everybody who tries out gets in). So I am wondering what parts are availabe for my age & gender? Thanks in advance!

Is it a jr. production or one in which the actors will be child/pre-teen/teenaged? There are no young boy characters, if that's what you're asking.

We're not doing Annie Jr., but all of the characters will be played by 11 - 19 yr olds.
Damn. Maybe we can find a good red-curly wig for me.

Well, perhaps they'll have boy orphans. You might get cast as a homeless or a servant. Actually, if you look older, you have a chance at Rooster, FDR, or Beart Healey as well. And then there's Mr. Bundles who I played in Annie Jr. in 6th grade (so I was how old? 12, I think?).

At that age, possibly a servant or something? Maybe rooster. Good luck with it, anyway [x]

My daughter played Annie with a youth company, and tho there are no parts for 10-year-old boys, there are lots of parts for guys.
There is Drake the butler, President Roosevelt, his cabinet staff (mostly male), dog catchers, Lt. Ward, the laundry guy, the radio announcer, the staff people for the radio show, homeless people in Hooverville. All of them have some lines, several also have solo parts in songs. Many of these parts are combined, so many boys had 3 or 4 characters they played in the show.
good luck, its a fun show to be part of.

I just finished my show last Friday and I had around 15 boys in my cast and they all had plenty to do. I added extra dogcatchers like someone on here mentioned and they were all servants, radio guys, etc.
It turned out much better than we thought and we had 6 through 11 year olds in our show! omg - I'm a crazy woman! But it really was a wonderful production - even with my 8 yr old Drake sliding across the stage in his tennies because he lost his black shoes. Looked like he was figure skating, lol.
But in answer to your question, there are parts for boys, it just depends on what the director is looking for. Can you do a good "Jersey" accent? You might try for Rooster. (No offense to those from the Jersey area - - it's just that we don't hear that much out here in New Mexico.)
