Are you maybe mistaken and referring to "Good News!" the musical by Betty Comden and Adolph Greene? That is set at Tait University in the 1920's? And was a really good MGM movie?

Yeah.. the more I research the more I think it probably is 'good news'

haha, that's exactly what I did right after I posted.
I know the general tone/storyline of the show, but now I'm looking for a few details.
Could anyone describe Connie and Babe for me? like, vocal range, type of character, dancing involved, and just anything you'd think I should know?
Also, the same for any other substantial female part?
