'Godspell' Musical Conductor's ScoreHello. I am in the middle of directing rehearsals for 'Godspell' and I have a dilemma. There is no conductor's score for the show, only the piano score. What have other people done to overcome this flaw?

I didn't find it to be a problem. Most musicals only provide a piano/conductor's score anyway, and the instrumentation is NEVER clear. With Godspell, it's even less of an issue since generally it's done with a combo, not a full orchestra.
What issues are you having?

Hello Robinflamingo.
We have a group of school kids who are a bit shaky on when to come in and so the teacher conducting them was looking for the security of a conductor's score so she could help each musician with his her timing and entries to musical cues.
Not to worry. Thanks for your reply.

On the plus side, the individual parts are very similar to the OBC recording, so perhaps playing along with that would help them!

Or you could purchase the rehearseascore CD from MTI.

It's rock based. It is a lot of chord-strumming and standard drum fills. What is there to conduct. Count off and go!
