'Curtains' to close

June 29th - Curtains takes it's final bow.
David Hyde Pierce will stay until the end.

Discuss.

This was expected, but it's still sad for a show to close.
shakalakababy

yeah not surprising but still unfortunate. I like this show quite a bit.

Finally! Dancing Broadway seems to be getting too cluttered; I say make room for something good at the Hirschfeld; although, compared to Wedding Singer, Curtains doesn't look quite so bad. But still, I say good riddance!

Ahhhh. I wasn't a huge fan of the show when I saw it, but it was relatively fun to watch.

I wonder what David Hyde Pierce will do next.

Hehe the title of this thread is funny. My first thought was about closing curtains. ie on windows.

A shame though Sad It was on my list of "things to see if I ever have enough money to go and see Broadway shows".

Laughing !
I never thought of it that way!

Oh, I'm sad that I won't get to see "Curtains"! But I'm glad it's going out with David Hyde Pierce in his original role.

I am excited to see what he'll do next...If he'd be keen on taking over a part, I could SO see him as the Man In Chair from The Drowsy Chaperone.

Yeah, for sure.... too bad it's gone. Sad

^Oh my. I've been living under a rock, haven't I? I had no idea that the Broadway production closed! Embarassed How embarrassing.

Well...umm...he can do the tour! Oh, I could see him as Herbie in Gypsy, if the revival is open-ended and lasts long enough for a cast change.

Yeah, it's been gone for a bit now.
Cry-Baby has moved in! Razz

It's really too bad, I say. It's a FANTASTIC show and the performances are amazing.
There's so much crap on Broadway now, it's a real shame to see the good shows close too soon. Ah well. At least with the amateur rights out, it's bound to be a big hit regionally! Wouldn't it be great fun to do??

In any case, I'm REALLY glad I had a chance to see it before it closes. I adored every second.

(if I could leave this world with as much talent as Karen Ziemba's little finger...)

The last original (as in, not a revival) Kander & Ebb show. What a shame. Sad

Especially sense Hearn and Rivera are in it and ESPECIALLY sence Signature has been getting so much attention of late and with the really big possibility of its Glory Days making it to Broadway.

Noooo!!! I guess deep down, I was hoping it would last until next March, when I'll be in NYC...

So, I'm going to NYC in May, and I was sort-of half-thinking of going to see Curtains (not that I didn't want to go see it, but I figured it would be running a while ). Now that I know that it's closing, I definitely want to see if I can get my hands on some tickets!

Anway, I know the basic plot of the show and such, but I have a strange-ish question related to it. I know that there are gun shots throughout the show, but exactly (or a rough estimate) how many are there, and how loud are they? One of the people that I'm going to see it with has a problem with such things, but if they're not too bad, he should be all set.

Thanks!

P.S. Who's the killer?

There are definately two...maybe three gunshots. They're a bit starteling but not too bad...like...at the one I jumped in my seat a little.

It ruins it to know who the killer(s?) are.
